January 27, 2023On January 10th at 7 p.m., antique specialist Jerry Sampson was at Morgan Row to assist local residents in identifying and valuing some of their prized possessions.
A dozen residents came by that evening to have their items evaluated by a local professional.
One of the most interesting items was a tiny, beautifully woven egg basket. The item was crafted by a master basket maker and was sized to fit one egg. Most likely, it was a pet project, not necessarily for resale that the basket maker had created in between larger projects without a particular goal, in the same way an absent mind with a pencil and paper will doodle.
The basket, obtained by the owner at a yard sale for a dollar, is worth over $50.
Mr. Sampson, the only accredited appraiser in the state of Kentucky, will hold another Attic Treasures event in January 2024. Keep your eyes open for our upcoming announcement and bring your treasures for him to see!
