Clay Hill (Magoffin-Thompson House)

Clay Hill was built in 1812 and was the birthplace of Governor Beriah Magoffin, Jr (1815-1885). The house is a splendid Federal mansion with exceptionally fine woodwork, a handsome and unusual brick arcade at the rear, and an expert Greek Revival portico on the façade. It is one of the major landmarks of historic Harrodsburg.
