Floyd Gritton House
2927 Bondville Rd, Salvisa, KY
The house was built by Floyd Gritton shortly after the Civil War. It was shown as E. Gritton on the 1876 Beers Map of the county. Near the house was a grist and sawmill. The floor plan consists of a central hallway with one room on either side. The chimneys are located on the interior of the gable end. The woodwork is original and is a simplified version of the motifs and proportions of Greek Revival. Paired and elongated windows and the eaves ornamented with “icicle” bargeboards is of Gothic Revival style. The foundation is stone.
