George McAfee House
760 Talmage-Mayo Road, Harrodsburg, KY
The George McAfee house is a well-built log and stone building circa 1790. It is a two-story, two-bay hall and parlor style structure with a 15’x 15’ log room on the west side, thought to be the settlement cabin (ca. 1779). This log room is attached to the stone structure via an enclosed dogtrot. There is a full basement or cellar under the stone portion of the house and floor joists viewed from the basement are made of halved logs. Woodwork throughout the house appears to be original.
