Greystone
618 Beaumont Ave, Harrodsburg, KY
Greystone was built in 1931 by Mrs. Glover Kyle who was a niece of Eli Lilly. She married a Mercer County farmer and lived in the county until his death when she moved into town and built Greystone. The architect was Hugh Meriweather of Lexington who was noted for his residential designs. Greystone is a two-story neoclassical residence built of limestone. A two-story portico supported by Ionic columns accents its two-story front façade. Among the many details in the house derived from the Federal period are a Palladian window and fanlight at the entrance.
