Moreland House

Across from 711 E Lexington Rd, Harrodsburg, KY

Colonel Daniel Moore built this Romanesque Revival house in 1891 as a wedding present to his second wife, Miss Minnie Ball. Construction took five years. The house is made of brick and limestone laid with pink mortar. The three arch veranda is composed of limestone and smooth granite. The interior contains stained glass windows, parquet floors, and elaborate plasterwork. The formal rooms of the house use decorative motifs derived from floral designs, Moorish arabesques, and Roman styles. The current owners are rehabbing the structure and are chronicling the work on their YouTube channel.
