North Main Street Historic District

Main Street, Harrodsburg, KY

The North Main Street Historic District is significant in the way that it helps us understand the development of Harrodsburg for the period 1823 to 1949. The district is the one mixed-use neighborhood within the original town limits; it has resulted from the melding of the different rhythms of a busy county seat: industry, transportation, commerce and the homes of its residents. The listed buildings in this district include the U.S. Post Office, the Passmore Hotel, Cardwellton, Alexandria, Courtview, and the Pulliam-Curry House. The NRHP application includes an inventory of all the lots in this district, their histories, and lists building date, outbuildings, exterior material, height, type of floor plan and alterations done to the property.
