Sutfield-Thompson House (Courtview)

362 N. Main St, Harrodsburg, KY

Courtview is a one-and-a-half story brick structure built in the Federal style. R.M. Sutfield, a prominent Harrodsburg citizen and local saddler, built it circa 1823. In its original form Courtview was distinctive, not only for the consistently high quality of its woodwork, but also for the unusual treatment of the outer hall. Foundations of the springhouse and smokehouse are located twenty feet west of the house. The NRHP application goes into great detail about the woodworking in the house as well as changes it has undergone in the 1840s and 1890s.
