September Program: A Taste of Mercer County
August 12, 2026Some stories refuse to stay buried.
This October, the Harrodsburg Historical Society invites you to step inside historic Morgan Row for Ghosts, Haunts & Haints: An Evening of Early American Supernatural Folklore—an immersive theatrical journey into the legends, ghost stories, and unexplained happenings that haunted the imaginations of early Americans.
Over the course of the evening, performers will bring to life tales both famous and familiar: the mysterious Leeds Devil lurking in the New Jersey Pine Barrens; Washington Irving’s legendary Sleepy Hollow; the chilling story of Tennessee’s Bell Witch; and closer to home, the haunting tale of Harrodsburg’s Dancing Lady.
This is more than storytelling. Within the historic walls of Morgan Row, audiences will be transported into a world of flickering shadows, old legends, and things that perhaps cannot quite be explained.
