Speaker Eve Kahn discussed her research on Mercer County native, Zoe Anderson Norris on January 11, 2022 at 7pm.
Eve M. Kahn, an independent scholar, wrote the weekly Antiques column for The New York Times from 2008 to 2016. Her first book, Forever Seeing New Beauties: The Forgotten Impressionist Mary Rogers Williams, 1857-1907 (Wesleyan University Press, 2019), won a Sarton Women’s Book Award as well as prizes from the Connecticut Center for the Book and the Connecticut League of History Organizations.
She contributes to the Times, Apollo magazine, The Magazine Antiques (she serves on its advisory board), and Fine Books & Collections and has written over 1,000 articles for other publications including The Wall Street Journal and Travel + Leisure.
Kahn has lectured at venues including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, National Arts Club, CUNY’s Women Writing Women’s Lives Seminar, and Edith Wharton’s The Mount. As a volunteer, Ms. Kahn serves on the council of the Grolier Club, organizing bibliophilic tours and lectures, and on the boards of the Art Glass Forum | New York (president, 2019-2021), Victorian Society New York (vice president), Poster House (advisor), and the Lotus Garden, a community open space.
The Kentucky-born writer Zoe Anderson Norris (1860-1914) is the subject of her biography in progress.
